I rolled over, stretched, and felt an ache between my legs that brought a smile, thinking about the dream I’d been having. My eyes flew open; I glanced around the unfamiliar room. It hadn’t been a dream. The bed was empty. Running my hand over the sheets, they were still warm. It was tempting to reach for his pillow, to breath in his scent. I didn’t. I climbed from bed and saw my torn panties on the floor, which caused both a grin and an ache between my legs, thinking about what immediately followed him ripping them from me.
There was a tee on the end of the bed; one I suspected he’d left for me. It fell to midthigh. In the bathroom, I found the toothpaste, put some on my finger, and cleaned my teeth as best as I could. Splashing water over my face and running my fingers through my hair, I took care of business, washed up, and went in search of Anton.
The smell of bacon and coffee drifted to me. My stomach grumbled. Reaching the kitchen, I was greeted to the sight of Anton wearing only a pair of sweats, standing in front of the stove. I wanted to run my hands down his back, run my tongue along his spine.
“You done looking, so we can eat?” He looked over his shoulder, those pale eyes shining with humor. “Or do you need another minute?” I almost stuck my tongue out at him. He chuckled. “Pour me a cup of coffee?” He asked and gestured to the pot that had two mugs sitting next to it.
“Black.” I said.
He glanced at me, surprised I remembered. “Yes.”
I poured his mug, set it next to him on the counter, and then got myself some. Before I could ask, he said, “sugar is in that cabinet, cream in the door of the fridge.”
I wondered, briefly, why he kept cream if he didn’t use it then realized for the very reason I needed it. He didn’t, but his guests did.
I fixed my coffee, leaned up against the counter and watched him. The events of yesterday played in my head, from him coming to me at the studio to this moment, standing in his kitchen watching him make breakfast. I wasn’t sure how I got here, wasn’t sure if this was real or just a really great dream.
“I can hear your brain working,” Anton teased, his head tilted, and he looked at me through his lashes. “Anything you want to talk about?”
“Just taking it all in.”
He turned the stove off, pulled the bacon and eggs from the heat, rested his hip against the counter, and reached for his coffee. “Taking it in?”
I took a sip of my coffee. “You, being here, how I should be nervous since I’ve never spent the night at a man’s place, and the first time I do, it’s you…”
My words got caught in my throat, seeing his reaction to my confession. His pale eyes weren’t pale at the moment; the heat burning in them nearly scorched me.
